I blame you not deals with pictures of wanted posters of lost pets. It is a classical thematic work about hope, love, sorrow and death. The fading colours on the found inkjet prints stems from an analogue process, starting with wind and weather on the roads. Sometimes these prints tore, moulded and faded unnoticed for years. Müller Jansen plays with the decomposition and shows deviations of the original and natural colours of the animals. By making valuable reproductions and blowups of the weathered material, the artist produces pictures from pictures from pictures. In fact, this work is a closer examination of the era of High End Photography and its inversion.
With a smirk, Müller Jansen continues the legacy of such pop art artists as Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons. He achieves an iconographic aesthetic and sophistication in his pastel and faded colour photographs.
