Still Hideous is an expression of the artist Daniel Müller Jansen’s anger at the behaviour and attitude of the American President Donald Trump. The artist has sourced press photographs and video stills as raw material to channel his annoyance and frustration into his etchings and paintings.

Provocation and outrage, aggression and destruction dominate the daily news coverage of the president’s statements and actions and this, in turn, distinguishes the artistic process – a perfect illustration of polemics causing only polemics in return.

For four years, the artist, along with the rest of the world, will have to endure this president. Confronted with this fact, Müller Jansen plans to continue his experiment for those four years – an exploration into anger and outrage by artistic means.
